Channing made Mens Health Best Beach Bodies. Making it in at #10 beating off the likes of StopLoss CoStar Ryan Philippe. But could not defeat Daniel Craig or Jake Gyllenhaal. Kellan Lutz made it in at #1.
Perhaps it’s no wonder Channing Tatum made our list of the Best Summer Bodies. It seems Men’s Health discovered him way back in 2000. Well, sort of. Turns out, Tatum’s first runway show as a fashion model—before he became an actor—was actually for a Men’s Health event. Since then, he’s been seen in movies, such as G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra and Dear John, and his physique continues to impress.

Right now Fox, through its label Fox 2000, is getting ready to bet on sci-fi again and is the lead contender to pick up an original spec script by Will Dunn titled “Ion,” which is generating interest from several studios.
Channing Tatum is attached to star in what is labeled a sci-fi romantic epic, with Ridley and Tony Scott attached to produce.
The plot revolves around a man who travels to different Earths and dimensions in order to find his reincarnated lover. Execs are using the magic word — “Avatar” — to describe the scope and otherworldly elements of the script.
“Ion” actually made the rounds last year but didn’t take. In the post-”Avatar” Hollywood, however, the script is generating renewed interest. It attracted the interest of the Scott brothers, who helped develop the script further, which then brought in UTA/Management 360-repped Tatum, who could be one of Hollywood’s next leading men. The whole package raised the mercury even higher.

From my point of view, this only shows that he wasnt just ‘born into the industry’ and actually worked hard for what he has. We all have to start somewhere, dont we?
Channing Tatum, the sexy star of the summer blockbuster G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, was a male stripping sensation when he was a struggling 18-year-old unknown. Tatum, 29, used to strut his stuff on stage and strip down to his skivvies under the stage name Chan Crawford.
In 1999, Channing danced in a Chippendales-style revue called Male Encounter in Florida for $50 a day plus tips, reports Us. But there was a no-nudity policy, so Tatum stripped down only to a thong during his sizzling dance routine (which didn’t seem to involve pole-dancing, which Miley Cyrus did at the Teen Choice Awards). He stayed at that gig for about a year before moving on.
“He was shy at first, but he really knew how to work the stage,” says London Steele, who owned the now-defunct club where Tatum worked. “The women went crazy for him!” And why not? Back then–as he does now–Channing had an enviable six-pack and a chiseled upper and lower body. In fact, Tatum’s dancing was so good he got hired to be an extra on Ricky Martin’s She Bangs music video.

Eat your heart out, ladies: Channing Tatum is officially off the market – and PEOPLE’s got the exclusive wedding photo to prove it.
The hunky G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra star, 29, married his Step Up dance partner Jenna Dewan, 28, on Saturday in Malibu, Calif.
Dressed in a peach-and-ivory Reem Acra couture ball gown, the bride looked dreamily into her Giorgio Armani-suited groom’s eyes as they wed. The pair exchanged vows before 220 guests – they included maid of honor Emmanuelle Chriqui and bridesmaid Haylie Duff – at an oceanside estate. Tatum’s 12 groomsmen wore Armani tuxedos with evening shirts and black silk neckties.
“I loved working with Jenna. She is so fresh and young,” designer Reem Acra said of her client. “Her input on what she envisioned for her gown was essential and I am thrilled to have made her dream wedding gown come true.”

The ceremony took only 15 minutes late afternoon at Church Estates Vineyard. The bride was stunning in a strapless white gown. The groom was his hunky best in a black suit. Actresses Emmanuelle Chriqui and Haylie Duff were both in the wedding party. Approximately 200 guests were in attendance.
