‘My Wife’s not bad looking’
written by Fay on August 18, 2009
I missed this interview while I was away on holiday, so here are my favourite parts. If you want to see the full interview, click here.
The secret to looking great with your shirt off.
“The best thing about my career is I get to be really on and really off. I’m at home drinking beer and eating cheeseburgers and chocolate cake, but then they cast me in a role like Duke in G.I. Joe and I’m on. I get really serious and it’s all the way to the wall and that’s great because I have all day to work out. People that do 9-to-5s don’t. I wake up and I run for an hour and then go and do my training.” Still not ready for Dancing With The Stars.
“My biggest challenge so far was dancing in Step Up. Every other person was a professional and they’d all been dancing since they were 6. That was hugely intimidating. But everybody kind of held my hand through it, even though I’d have a meltdown every once in a while, like, ‘I can’t do this! I’m not cut out to be a dancer.’”
The upside was he met his new wife.
“Jenna Dewan [whom he wed in Malibu last month] and I had weeks of sweaty dance rehearsals together in Step Up. When you’re draped all over each other, it’s easy to create chemistry. I kept thinking, ‘She’s not bad-looking, so it’s not that hard to be really into her.’”
I found this cute channing Interview from the Times, you can find the whole thing here.
CHANNING Tatum plays Shawn MacArthur in Dito Montiel’s Fighting.
Q: Dito Montiel wrote and directed Fighting. What do you think he tried to accomplish?
A: He wanted to make a film that could be emotional and entertaining at the same time.
Q: So, the title shouldn’t lead us to believe it’s all action?
A: I don’t think Dito would be able to do just an action movie. He doesn’t have that mindset.
Q: You have worked with him before and plan to do so again. How would you describe your relationship?
A: Maybe we just see the world in the same way, but it’s such a relief to be with someone you can trust because you don’t have to watch yourself.
Q: Your character seems like a sweet kid, although he can also be scary at times.
A: The scariest people I have met in my life have been some of the sweetest. How nice you can be in life is also how dangerous you can be and how much you can love people is also how much you can hate them. Shawn is the nicest guy and can take a lot, but once you push him against the wall, he can be very dangerous, not because he is the best fighter, but because he will just keep getting up and coming at you.
Q: So, do you have any battle scars from Fighting to regret?
A: Nothing to regret, though I did break my nose.
Q: Would you consider yourself a tough guy?
A: I have been in my fair share of scrapes, but I’m not tough. I walk away from fights now.
Q: Do you feel this could be your big year, especially after shooting Fighting, Public Enemies and GI Joe: The rise of the Cobra ?
A: I feel like I’m in a bubble that hasn’t popped, so no one really knows me yet. And I would like to keep it that way as long as I can continue doing the films that I like.
Channing Tatum is on the August cover of GQ, where he’s tasked with promoting next month’s G.I. Joe (oof).
All he has to say about that is “I hope it does OK.” Costar Sienna Miller chimes in with “You know, G.I. Joe, it’s not going to be the best acting work we’ve ever done.” Well, these two certainly know how to make us want to see a movie.
Fortunately, his profile is less about figuring what a mess G.I. Joe might be and more about promoting Chan (that’s what they call him) as a good ol’ Southern boy. Oh yeah, and he has abs and stuff that are trying to burst through that button-down shirt. Oh, oops, they just did…
Chan takes writer Lisa DePaulo to his Uncle Bruce’s home in Alabama. There, you have to choose between liking horses or liking Obama, something Chan refuses to do.
“I don’t care. If they don’t like me because I voted for Obama, then f–k them. I like horses and I like Obama. Nothin’ wrong with that.”
As for site news, yesterday i purchased jennaandchanning.net (now though i think i should have got the other way round), so you have guessed it the site will soon be changing into a jenna and channing resource as i thought there was a lack of Jenna around.
Anyone will ing to help are fully welcomed on board.
I found this while I was on the BBC, it was from the visit Channing made to the Uk, during his promotion of the film ‘Fighting’.
So his first words to me were ‘You’ve got boobs,’ how rude! Not at all, it was very very funny indeed and how awesome was Channing Tatum? We had a speed date with him where he talked about his new film ‘Fighting,’ learning to dance and Sienna Miller called in to speak to him. Listen back or check out me showing him my favourite top 5 dance moves.
