I missed this interview while I was away on holiday, so here are my favourite parts. If you want to see the full interview, click here.
The secret to looking great with your shirt off.
“The best thing about my career is I get to be really on and really off. I’m at home drinking beer and eating cheeseburgers and chocolate cake, but then they cast me in a role like Duke in G.I. Joe and I’m on. I get really serious and it’s all the way to the wall and that’s great because I have all day to work out. People that do 9-to-5s don’t. I wake up and I run for an hour and then go and do my training.”
Still not ready for Dancing With The Stars.
“My biggest challenge so far was dancing in Step Up. Every other person was a professional and they’d all been dancing since they were 6. That was hugely intimidating. But everybody kind of held my hand through it, even though I’d have a meltdown every once in a while, like, ‘I can’t do this! I’m not cut out to be a dancer.’”
The upside was he met his new wife.
“Jenna Dewan [whom he wed in Malibu last month] and I had weeks of sweaty dance rehearsals together in Step Up. When you’re draped all over each other, it’s easy to create chemistry. I kept thinking, ‘She’s not bad-looking, so it’s not that hard to be really into her.’”
